The padayatra to Kataragama Devidun along the Yala Vana Raja Dahana

The annual pilgrimage of Kataragama deities started by Hindu devotees near the Okanda temple in Kumana National Forest Park last day. The trek will cover about 79 kilometers through Kumana Yala National Forest Park and reach the Kataragama Temple. A large number of Hindus from all over the island participate in this annual event, and the necessary facilities are being provided by the Army to make this event a success.
Military personnel have been deployed to ensure the safety of the devotees traveling there, and in addition to this, military personnel have been deployed to provide water and health facilities for the convenience of all those traveling on foot as per the instructions of the Commander of the Army.
